******** from the most picturesque & solemness place in Cagayan........ Sta. Teresita, Cagayan. It's name was derived from the beloved wife of former Governor of Cagayan province (Teresa Dupaya)..... thus came, the town name "Sta. Teresita". it was known before as Namunit, a far away barrio of Buguey, Cagayan way back in the late 70's. Then later, it was officially became a town with the named "Sta. Teresita". From the word itself (Sta o Santa),... means its a cool place, a very solemn place for those who loves to be quiet, soul searching type of guy, a person who wants tranquility away from the chaotic & smoggy Manila. People out here are easy to get along with coz' we are all friendly people no matter who you are & what you have in life........ so come on now & enjoy the fun loving Teresitans!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, our current Municipal Mayor is Hon. Mayor Romeo Garcia. He was my townmate of course & my boardmate whe we were still studying in Manila. He was indeed a very, very handsome Romeo (out of Juliet, of course),.... & he was very approachable person too. For all his constituent, he was a good Mayor indeed,... so much workaholic kind of guy..... beautifying the whole Sta. Teresita & its neighboring barrios, as well as giving a helping hand to those who are needy townmates........ I believe, I'd said more than I was suppose to say.... but thanks indeed.
